Richard Ledding articled with Gregory Ledding and then practiced as a sole practitioner until 1985 when he joined the firm of Thompson & Elliott as an associate. He became a partner of Thompson & Elliott in 1988 and practiced with Thompson & Elliott until 2010 when he left Thompson & Elliott and began practicing as Richard Ledding Law Corporation.

He has practiced as a solicitor for thirty-one years predominantly in the areas of real estate and corporate and commercial transactions.

Richard acts for many companies throughout British Columbia and is a registered and records office for 300 – 400 companies. He has extensive experience in setting up and acting for mortgage investment corporations including acting for such mortgage investment corporations in completing lending transactions. As well as acting for institutional lenders in routine real estate transactions, he also acts for numerous other private lenders with respect to completing lending transactions, both residential and commercial. He acts for numerous borrowers who are borrowing funds from private lenders. He also has experience setting up syndicated mortgages pursuant to securities legislation.

Richard has acted for numerous purchasers and sellers of businesses, both by way of acquisition by purchase or sale of shares and by purchase or sale of assets, including restaurants and hotels with liquor licenses and numerous franchised businesses such as Subways and Quiznos.

He acts for a large number of creative real estate investors as well as traditional real estate purchasers, investors, syndicators and developers and he speaks at various real estate presentations such as Rich Dad Poor Dad events and Ozzie Jurock’s seminars for real estate action groups. He has significant experience with respect to co-housing projects and currently acts for numerous co-housing groups involved in developing and constructing co-housing projects.

He has acted as an expert previously on behalf of The Society of Notaries Public of B.C. with respect to issues concerning a notary acting for private lenders.
